Have you ever considered becoming a beekeeper? Would you like to find out more about bees and beekeeping?

Romford Beekeepers is running a beekeeping taster session (download details below) on Sunday 8th August 2021 between 12:00pm and 4:00pm.
Tickets are only £20 and FREE for CHILDREN 12-16 (each child must be accompanied by a paying adult). Download the poster for full details.
If you’ve thought of learning more about bees and beekeeping, our taster session will introduce you to:
• honey bees, bumble bees, solitary bees, wasps;
• types of beehives, hive components;
• managing bees: essentials: basic tools, protective clothing;
• how to get started in beekeeping.
The session includes a live hive demonstration giving you the opportunity to get close up and acquainted with the bees (protective jacket & veil provided).
If you can’t make 8th September, and you would like to know more about becoming a beekeeper, your local division will be able to help you with this.
Theory courses normally run outside of the summer months, while practical courses are normally held in early summer.
See What’s on or contact your local division to find a course near you.
